Nicely done. Great entry for the contest - good luck. Deserves to be Recognized and an All Time Best. She looks older than 11. Definitely Pink. Thanks for sharing.

You are more welcome. But the THANKS Belong to You for such fine encouraging words and continued support. You have a Wonderful Christmas and a Year filled with Happiness, Good Health, and Prosperity, my artist friend. I know so many of the girls look older at that age. She was almost 12. She was snapped at an odd time, position, at the food bar then I did the painting.

Thanks for your kind words. I wish the same for you and your family. May next year be a year of health and happiness and no CORONA.

It is always nice to see wonderfully made portraits. The shy expression on the face of your granddaughter really speaks here. I also like the smooth finish of the painting which seems to lead the gentleness of your granddaughter. The folks at home must be very proud of you. Well done!

Thanks. You are so kind. I was unable to take several shots. Just from a snapshot. And, thanks so much for the compliments.

This is an interesting rendition. I like the expression of the child. The viewer has the impression that she looks out from a window. It seems that she glances at something and like what she sees. The light reflexes at the eyes are especial intriguing. Proportions and perspective are correct. I am impressed by your attention to realistic detail and color. The portrait is well composed. The composition is balanced.

Beautiful picture the child's dark hair is the perfect contrast to the different shades of pink. I also like that her half smile is a very natural look.

Thank you much. But what should I improve that you gave a four? Thanks. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year in good health, safety, and prosperity.

You have the right idea toward painting the face in a portrait setting. With practice and time you will be painting like the old pros. Very nice skin tones of pleasant warm colors. The reds add loads of compassion with the uses of white pushing and pulling the young girl and her sweater in the picture frame. I'm not sure if the frame works with the figure. Maybe too much cropped in the shoulder. Overall nice start to painting portraits in high style. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very much. It was my first acrylic portrait painting; then, when I couldn't get the mouth to please me as it was, I brought into photoshop and added the background and frames because I could only print it in 8.5 by 11.5. The painted portrait was larger. I'm doing another of her, but took many poses. Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions. I had usually painted portraits and projects in oil or watercolor. I am learning. Thanks again.

Painting is a big experiment, with no real right or wrong way to a finish work. Painting what you feel is the goal, leaving you open and free to try new things. Have a nice day painting.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am learning. I don't paint as often as some but would love to. Thanks for your inspiring me to do just that.

I think that you did a very nice piece of work here, I love how you used photoshop to help you with your art work. I have never used it but I see that some people do and it makes me want to try it also. I see that this is entered un a contest and I wish you the best in it. With the extra framing it looks like she is looking out of a window. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.

Thank you, Jack for your wonderful comments and input. They meant a lot to me. Yes, sometimes when I can't get something like I wish--in this case her mouth--I do, or to add a background, etc. I have never drawn a complete work in Photoshop but am in the process of completing two of my illustrations for the interior of my son's and my novel in Photoshop. Thanks also for your best wishes. Contest may have been, as they wanted more painted pink, not sure. But, again, thanks so very much for your support.

A nice looking portrait with a rather somber expression on her face. The mouth seems a bit mature looking for a little girl, but the colors are great. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you. It is like her mouth; she was in line to eat and I took it from the snapshot.

I think you did a wonderful job. Faces and skin tones and coloring is very difficult. She resembles you alot. Very pretty grand daughter. she will cherish this forever!

Thank you, thank you, thank you kindly. Probably somewhat when I was that age. Her family is of Armenian descent and have such nice kinda dark skin and dark hair. She has natural curly hair and now is prettier than ever. Again, I am honored by your comments.

An extremely attractive young lady, which provides a good presentation, well lit and features distinguishable against a plain background and good use of colour.

Thank you so much, artist friend. Really, really appreciate the "6." Your encouragement really means a lot. She is my granddaughter. From a snapshot at a special event, I painted her so far down in acrylic, couldn't get her mouth to please me, so I brought it in Photoshop, got it as close as possible and completed the work.

A well executed presentation,I was only good at anatomical drawings during nurse training.

Nice shading and I like the delicacy of the necklace. I like the sparkle in her eyes. How nice to paint your grand children. I feel the proportions are a slightly off.

Thanks. I was painting only partially as many portrait artists leave lots off except the face. This was a capture of her when she was not posing at a special event. I have since taken many poses in thoughts of doing a larger portrait and hope to all of them in the bye and bye. Its a shame I haven't done them yet. This was my first portrait in acrylic. Thanks anyway.

Thanks. I intended to paint only the face and hair, some of the dress to look like a photograph, especially the face. Next time I hope to do more like a painting. The face and hair are in perfect proportions but I decided to end with borders. It is my first acrylic portrait.
