Basic mums to me, tho I love the color, it's also very colorful, tho I rather simple plants so there of all I'm giving this 1star, tho I love this plant very much, as I said again I rather simple plants and I would rather something less poppy and big

Sorry. I just photographed what my daughter-in-law was given (one of several baskets) when her mom passed in her sleep while waiting for the wake of her only sibling, a brother. Amazing how different people view things, art, but we appreciate all angles.

So beautiful flowers and lovely lighting. Beautiful composition!
A beauty .... Full of joy and color. I wouldn't have cropped it so much , but I guess it still works fine. Wish you a nice day !

Thank you so much. I just cropped the shadows and business away from the flowers when I brought into photoshop and created a background with base. Someone suggested to remove the shadows so I did. I know I must learn for myself what looks best. Thanks again.

The flowers came of clear and bright. I personally think they would have looked much nicer If you had found the right place to set them and photo them. The artificial background looks stiff and boring and the added shadow doesn't look right. So sorry, but this is what I see.

It is strange what different people see. I had shadows on the background and it was suggested I remove so I did. I was just focussing on the basket of flowers.

It is strange how people see differently. It was suggested I remove the shadows and I did. Actually, the flowers were one of many that my daughter-in-law received when her mother passed in her sleep on September 19 while she was waiting on her only sibling's--a brother's wake, so I could hardly move it from the busy place it was in; therefore, I just created the background with base and small baseboard. I am more an artist in drawing and painting than photographer although one artist on this site who has photographed worldwide thought this one might win. My Canon plopped and I now use my small Olympus now. The shadow is part of larger shadows that were there and I removed when suggested.

Interesting how they put three plants in one pot, they are beautiful flowers, I can see how the shadow on top is giving away that the background is different, lol, this work shows the plant on its own, I gather by you changing the background that you wanted to focus on the plant and not the background it was originally in

Thank you so much. You so read my intention, yes I could not use the busy background and did exactly as you state. Thanks again, artist friend.

Good composition and work with this lovely arrangement. It would look great outside my front door! Colorful, seasonal and unique. Good job on this one.

I like this compostion very much Glena of this basket of three different chrysanthemums. I like what you've done in photoshop apart from the shadowing which doesn't really work for me. Lovely shot nevetheless, well done

Thank you. I took it from a busy background, wanting to focus on the beautiful flowers. I probably should not have kept that shadow either. Thanks.

Glena,
A beautiful picture of the mauve, golden yellow & white Chrysanthemum planted in the half barrel on a shelf with a pale wall in the background. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Thank you for all of your encouraging words. Glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could do that much with a camera and had the kind of camera to do it with. My work is mostly from composing in art. But you made my day, rather late night.

The flowers in this image are beautiful. They have great depth and colour. The composition and concept are good. The photoshop altered parts of this image leave it looking flat. The shadowing in the back behind the flowers is not cut closely enough to make it blend well with the background you have chosen. The flooring has a similar flat effect. Next time you might try putting the basket of flowers into a background with more greenery, leaves and shadows perhaps, it would be more forgiving than the solid background. The basket itself looks pretty good. Keep going you're on the right track

Thank you friend artist. I just tried to take out the terrible business around the original as I created a new wall. I could have done, created greenery and may do so but I focused on the flowers and beautiful flowers to enter as I am have so many other things to do including getting my novel illustrations ready, etc. I am learning and thanks for your good suggestions (I think you reviewed this before and I wanted to enact your suggestions had I a chance.) regarding my photography. I am not the photographer that I am artist in drawing, etc. God is helping me. I have taken hundreds, probably thousands of pictures years ago but they were more snapshots, and later what I could draw and paint from should I ever have the time and health. I had my second brain MRI this past Saturday and they let me know today, things are stable. Covet your prayers.

Your still life photography mirrors your still life painting, or is it the other way round?

A well planned and executed venture into mixed media land if I do say so. Camera settings are sharp and crisp. Colors are bright and bold. DOF keeps sharp focus throughout the frame. Excellent choice for the center of interest.

The great thing about doing these is there is no limit of subject matter or brain matter. Keep working in this realm, I hope to see more ... Bob P. B-))

Thank you so much. You are so right, Bob. This one is photography, I just put a clean wall in without the business of so many shadows, etc.
