Indeed, this mixed media creation is open to any interpretation. To me it looks as if the Mallard is cleaning its chest feathers. Your photo has good depth and is excellent focused, exposed and treated with mixed media. I appreciate the sharpness of detail and the realism of light and color. The framing by the arch at the background and the circular waves below is especial interesting. The sword at the left low corner adds a surreal, mysterious feel. The mixed media is perfect composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

I understand about buying your wife. It has been one year since she passed away. This bring back so many memories of the days leading up to the end. Yep it is hard to deal with. After one year it is still hard to believe.

This is beautiful ! The mallard Drake is in such an awesome pose as he tucks his head . Like the way he is placed within this scene and it looks like he is in front of a gate , the fog n background here is awesome and really makes this special, i love the reflection under him too. Very well arranged and presented , your use of mixed media has transformed this image into a lovely work of art! Best wishes to you in this contest!
