In 2016, it was sold to the Eclectic Bar Group, headed by former PizzaExpress owner Luke Johnson, who renamed the pier back to Brighton Palace Pier in July.
The Palace Pier remains a popular tourist attraction into the 21st century, particularly with day visitors to the city. In contrast to the redevelopment and liberal culture in Brighton generally, it has retained a traditional down-market "bucket and spade" seaside atmosphere. In 2016, the Brighton Fringe festival director Julian Caddy criticised the pier as "a massive public relations problem"

Really nice sky with clouds. Buildings are really nice, picturesque and the fence is nice. You did the whole really well as it covers quite a bit; the green rails coming down and the light snow on the ground.

very cool. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this cool looking building on the pier over the water with nice skyview is great . the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Beautiful blue hue for this sky with so sharply defined clouds frame and compliment this monument. Timing the exposure with the surf is excellent. Camera settings for exposure, f-stop and WB control are excellent.

This is an overall pleasing shot that shows good clarity and definition of the scene. The waves crashing do make this a dramatic shot and the dof is well done. I especially like the blue sky that gives excellent contrast.

I like what you've done to create this beautiful scene, making it look like a painting. I love the colours in this with the sky casting a golden glow on the buildings and water. I like the angle you chose for this. Very good camera skills. Great composition. Suzanne

This is a very dramatic shot of the English Channel as the waves break on the shore.
The building jutting out into the channel is very unique with interesting architecture.
The deep blue of the background sky with the clouds is very eye attracting and really makes this scene. Very nicely done.
