Again, this one is perfect for a black and white setting. The swirling design in the frozen river covered with snow, makes the image so attractive and interesting. I'm glad you had a warmer day. I can't imagine living in below zero temperatures, ever!

This winter-landscape is impressive. How the river thawed and painted waves of wet snow onto the surface is striking. Your photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. The black and white monochromatic emphasizes the thawing pattern perfectly. The landscape is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Black and white was a good choice for this. The patterns in the snow is interesting. A pretty winter scene.
I want to see Alaska but not in the winter.
I bet 40 degrees does feel good after sub zero Temps.

Thanks very much Brian! There really wasn?t much color on this day, and it was a week day so there aren?t many people out here during the work week. I think it would have been cool if a moose walked across !

This is again a beautiful different picture as we can see the black section which really created a good color combination with a great harmony as it is close up and far away - and this dark point inside the water - standing out is also special
I am happy that now it is a warm spell, so all is changing already to a different ground

A very nice shot that looks particularly good in black and white. The flow of the river below the ice makes a beautiful pattern. A fine exposure for the snow and a great tonal range.
