I'll take the cardinals by a touchdown over the chargers. Wait, wrong post. Lol. Just kidding;) Great click, Dean! The detail is spot on and great timing!

Too funny! Sorry it has taken so long to respond. It's that rotten schedule. Most days when I get home I am just too sleepy to get online. Thanks so much for the sixers and I don't mean the kind that play basket ball!

Beautiful male cardinal, well captured with good timing to get it with the seed in beak.
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, colors snd tones appear natural ,well defined detail in feathers, face and beak, nice clear eye! Well composed and presented! I feed mainly the black sunflower seeds , here it's the redpolls that's scatter the seeds all over the place!
Well composed and presented!

Thanks, Pat. He was chomping them so fast most of the shots were of empty shells. It was really amazing to watch him crack them open, eat the seed, then spit out the shells all in a matter of seconds.

Great capture of this beautiful cardinal searching for his favourites amongst the seeds. I like how you caught him with a seed in his beak. Very good camera techniques showing a lovely clear image. Great composition. Suzanne

Thanks so much for your review! This was the first time in many years that I have put out feeders and seed. The cardinal in this photo was the first bird on the scene and has gotten to the point that he doesn't fly away when I go outside to refill the feeders. He just sits at eye level in a nearby apple tree waiting for me to serve his next meal.

I live this bird! It is the Kentucky state bird.
I have enjoyed seeing them all my life. I have photographed them a lot.
I feed nothing but sunflower seed. All the birds like it best. Even the woodpeckers like it.
