This is a truly beautiful winter scene Pat, and I especially like your POV. The creek is such a perfect lading line bringing the viewer into the scene, and you have captured such fine shine and the motion in it.

The photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the landscape, and both the white balance and the exposure is spot on.

I also like the way you have cropped the photo, and how the trees on the left are working as a nice and natural framing. It is a great balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Pat, I can see that Alaska is so beautiful that you will never run out of material to capture. I love it, the stream, the reflection, the sky and of course the snow adorning the country side. Fantastic. Ray G.

I would be thrilled if we could have 33 degrees here-lol! A beautiful winter scene, I like how part of the creek is ice free, the open water leads the eye deeper into the photo past the snow dusted trees where a distant peak can be seen. You've captured the movement in the water, which has, in turn, captured some of the sky color as it flows on it's way. A perfect winter scene!

Such a picturesque snowscape!! Fresh snow has its own charm and to have this kind of creek waters in the midst of snowscape is just so ethereal. It's a gorgeous composition and the sky is beautiful. Kudos for sharing this splendid click

I look forward to seeing water instead of all this ice. It won't be long now. A peaceful scene with all that snow cover. I love the colors in the sky and the snow in the trees.

wow Pat! either your temps are going up too high or ours are going down to low.. we are now on par for the same temps! 45 here in Florida today.

Your piece is amazing and truly detailed to show off every limb on those trees.. I just love how you do your pieces... you are a real landscape photographer!

Well let me see, it is actually the last day of May when it is considered safe to plant gardens without the concern of frost .

Wow, I love viewing your photos. Wild Alaska. To see the creek with running water but not all through the photo. It end around mid way. Maybe the photo as a whole need to be lightened up a bit. You have blue sky and I understand sun light isn't everywhere. But this is a wonderful photo

Hey there Pat!
It has been awhile! I don't have much time these days but try to log on every once in awhile. There have been many of your images I have wanted to review as they are always so beautifully shot. This image is no different and showcases the beauty that is in winter. Just a really nice shot with a great angle showcasing the reflections of the sky in the little bit of stream that isn't snow/ ice covered. Really great work!

Hmmm still not convincing me that you are warming up there Pat - only 80f (27c) today but 80% humidity which I cannot handle at all like going out into a sauna.
Anyway your image is stunning your exposure and white balance spot on with excellent composition. Love the reflection on the slightly thawed creek.
