This is your style. It is real but not photorealistic, it is real art, the way you apply your skill to representation of the femaly, her attitude and posture are very correct and enjoyable. I love her post, your construction of the scene to put her on that couch, what a great backdrop.

Great background. Really good sofa and red dress. The face and hair are fairly good as are other factors. But the hariness or distortion on the legs take away a tad. And, one of the eyes is kinda off. Yet good composition.

Your achievements with pastels amazes me. Love the shadow work, it is really good. Astediclly pleasing to view. Not to mention she is a pretty lady. The red dress really sets not only the tone of the piece but gives it movement, like you just kind of expect her to get up and twirl around. Very nice indeed. Kudos to you my friend.

Your pastel reminds me of paintings which were famous in the 1960's. Sh4e looks like a student who is modelling in her free time fill up her small budged. She tries to make her pose pleasant to the viewer and comfortable as possible for herself. I appreciate your attention to realistic detail. Proportions and perspective are correct. The colors are attractive. The woman is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

This has a nice abstract presentation with beautiful colors that grab at the viewers attention in a pleasing way. Soft definition and excellent shading make this a wonderful view!

I see the scroll in her hand that reflects the caption, but the rest of her dress and expression do not seem to fit with that. That said, it makes me curious what the lady's story might be, were it to be told. Is she perhaps from an era and station in life that does not respect her mind, perhaps putting her in a conflicted social context? I would like to know about this subject and the possible story behind the picture... This has the potential to be a conversation piece it seems to me!... Thanks for sharing!

So nice to see this young
Lady in the red dress trying to impress her teacher.
Great details, especially her expression and posture. The red colors and black background do make her white, soft skin stand up.
Great artwork.

I find that pastels are very hard to control and mix. Finer details are hard to achieve. You have captured the important features of the model. The gesture presents well. The colors work well, the red on the grey. That shadow on the breast needs to be softened. The legs need to be blended better. The hands and feet need more work. You have the big picture and it works fine. The hardest parts of the body are hands and feet. Thats why artist prefer to do portraits. I hope my honest critique helps you in your pursuit. Doing studies will hone your talent. I see that you have the eye for art and that is very important. Excellent job over all. Figure drawing is the toughest because of the detail required. I hope I've been helpful. Ray G.
