What a great image you have captured here Jack. This reminds my of Cades Cove in the Smokies. In the early Spring we saw young fawns quietly going about their lives totally unafraid of the people nearby.

Good pose and placement in the frame. A well seen and captured image ~ Steve

Wonderful shot....the cropping is a bit tight but still enjoyable :) I saw a fawn last spring and it walked right up to me so I totally understand the excitement :) Thank you so much for sharing!

Such a beautiful moment capture ! They are just so beautiful, and to think people kill them:-( Your frame is good , I guess you were excited to see this creature and didn't have the time to compose better , light and colors are fine too .

Such a beautiful fawn. Lucky you! The background is nicely uncluttered and seeing the entire animal close-up is nice, though it would have been ideal to see all four feet without such tight cropping.

A very nice natural capture of this little deer presented here Jack together with a nice back story. Nicely framed and focused with nice natural colours, well done

Awww! Such a sweet baby! You caught him/her perfectly. Great focus, and good depth. It looks like you could reach out and pet him. Wonderful photo!

I love them too! I find if they see you a lot, they tend to not be scared but become curious. Love all the spots on this one, I would have liked to see more room for this little deer to move forward.

You did an outstanding capture of this precious fawn. True to your commentary--liked it. Is the fawn licking a solt block or a rock? Can't tell, but rocks are nice, the grasses too, dirt ok.

A very attractive picture for me as I love all kinds of animals and this one is outstanding at such a special unusual moment, really exciting
your angle and position is excellent - your close up is well applied with your perfectly adjusted colors so the result is more than perfect - excellent presentation xoxo

Jack ya got yourself a great human interest shot. Like yourself I live for these encounters. To increase my odds of getting that one in a million shot I keep my camera set to burst mode/center metering when traveling.

Beautiful bright clear natural looking color. The fawn is nicely profiled against the background.

Framing is classic center thirds. Positioning of the fawn keeps the viewers eye - nice eye appeal.

In the overall sense this is a fine and complete nature photograph that tells a touching story.

In the finer sense the image of the fawn is 'soft' in focus. Compare the detail of the background grass with the details of the fawn.

I recently posted a similar take of a mother and twins. I shot it through the storm door window - yeah it was soft. wife asked why post it, I said "Because it is just too darn cute to keep to myself." ... Bob
