There is such a feeling of peace and calmness when viewing this image , I canā??t think of a better place to stop, relax and just take in the view then at the beach especially during sunset. This man in silhouette with his arm up and hand on the tree is doing just that.
The tree is so unusually shaped ,the top portion looks like a large bird has landed on the down facing portion of the tree, I like the position of the man as he stands under the arch of the tree and has his hand up on it as he watches the sun disappear below the horizon.
This is well photographed with good focus,the image is sharp and clear, well managed lighting, the colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented!
I hope you sent this image to your friend, I think that looking at it will remind him to take the time to just be .

Thank you so much Pat. This is the first time I have had a person actually pose for me. I took several shots of him sitting and standing. He was really pleased with the results. Got lucky and found this tree on the sea shore. Got a POV that proved interesting. Thank you so much again for your review Pat ~ Steve

Went on a short trip to the shore in La Blass, Mexico. My friend said he wanted a silhouette of him at sunset. I found this tree that was almost in the water. So I had him pose. I loved the shapes of the tree against the sun set.

You are so right Steve, but it isn't always easy when you are younger and always have so much to do. Being a pensioner I have more time to enjoy life and all the beautiful things surrounding us. Looks like the man in the photo totally agree as well.
It is such a lovely atmosphere in this photo, and like how the dark arch is working as a nice and natural framing. It is also such a lovely golden glow at the horizon and this is so nicely reflected in a pool of water in front of the man.
The photo is sharp with clear and well defined details, and the exposure is perfect. I also appreciate the nice and natural colors.
The photo is nicely cropped, and it is a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
