Imagine they are extremely hard to get and unfortunately I think the plant is more focused than the bird which is difficult to see clearly. I would definitely increase the speed and try a higher ISO. Small birds are quite aggravating as they are so quick and hide well amongst foliage.

A nice enough shot although the bird plays second fiddle to the plant. I use a similar lens (150-600mm) however I use an ISO of 1000 which allows me to shoot at 1/2500 sec at f 8. I will occasionally open up the lens to f 6.3 and shoot at 1/4000 th or 1/5000 sec. I find that the Nikon D7200 can handle the increased ISO pretty well and use that as my default ISO with that camera.
