The first think I noticed when opening this photo was the incredible sharpness, and how well you have brought out the fie textures on the cow's fur. I also like a lot the close and personal approach, and also that the cow was looking at you when the photo was taken.
As already mentioned, the photo is pin sharp, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the cow's face. The exposure is spot on.
I also like the tight cropping and the placement of the cow within the frame. This is a truly lovely and well taken photo Willie, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

Although a tight crop i think that it shows of the cows face really good and the detail in this b/w version is also really good and yes the expression is good and it looks curious in this,good one...Brian
