Like the lovely earth colors on the wings of the crane. The rest of the colors on it blend nicely with the sky. The eye appears reddish. For sure, a skilled capture of the subject.

Amazing capture Pat! You were in the right place at the right time. I have never seen a Sandhill Crane let alone in flight. Excellent clarity for an action shot and great view of his interesting colourings. The smokey haze in the background is complimentary.

What an excellent capture of this crane in flight! The smokey background is an added touch to the to the outstanding details of the crane with wings spread wide. The colors of the feathers' detail and the way they highlight each one, only a true artist would depict!
Awesome! Happy for you!

This is simply an amazing shot of this Sandhill Crane and in a smoke laden sky.The focus is remarkable. The coloring on the Crane is right on the mark. The splaying of the outermost feathers on the wings for stability is evident. Well appreciated Pat, so nice. Ray

Pat,
A beautiful stop action picture of the Sandhill Crane in flight, it's wing tip flight feathers outspread light fingers on a hand, it's head forward on an extended neck, legs & feet held out straight behind it. The smoky sky making a perfect backdrop. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques& sharp focus.

A wonderful capture of this crane in flight! I love the immense size of his wings and their beautiful colors. The focus and clarity is well done and this is clearly seen despite the smoky background. Your framing choice has worked out well. Beautiful work!
