Hi Lee Anne, I love this cute little chipmunk! I think the stump of this old log was a great place to capture him. The focus and lighting really show him off and we get to fully enjoy that cute pose.
I wanted to Congratulate you on your win and let you know I also saw the wonderful rendition Carina created by painting him. I can only imagine how thrilled you were to have her paint one of your images. You both did a SUPER JOB! Wish I had a six for you! :o) nancy

Fine focus, great eye clarity and nice exposure.
The close up allows us to see great details from tiny paws to tail.

This Chipmunk is really cute and the pose is excellent.
The colors are well done and make this fellow look very natural. The focus is nice and sharp.
The wood is a wonderful part of the scene and is well done as it enters the frame from the lower right corner and draws the eye to the main subject.
A great entry for the contest and I wish you all the best in the judging.

I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail and textures. The reflections in the eye of the Chipmunk are especial interesting. The shallow background is unobtrusive but emphasizes the animal nicely. The mixed media is well composed and framed. The Chipmunk is perfect placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

The light sparkling in his eye while highlighting his beautifully patterned & stripped fur coat. The blurred grey green creating the perfect backdrop.
