i don't know cleo, it just looks like this bee sting would hurt quite a bit! those are some interesting colors on his legs and his body. Nice sharpness and centering.

When I first glanced at this on my iPhone it was small and looked like a photo then clicked on it to see it larger and saw that it was digitally painted. Just so cool. Colors and the light affect. The positioning of the bug. All done so well. Love it. I absolutely love the title as well. So fitting.

This is indeed a fine entry into a contest like this, and I am not surprised that it was a winner. Congratulations !
I especially like the green colors of the background with the fine textures, and also how well the insect is standing out from it. The insect is painted paying such a good attention to details, and with fine brush strokes.
The format and framing is perfect, and I like the slight diagonal placement of the insect on the canvas. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. I think this is a lovely and well done digital painting Cleo.
