I love a touch of humor. The appearance of the Headless Horseman bird is a clever use of an otherwise photo, The lighting and technical aspects of the shot are good and well lit. I am sure the heron would like a copy of the photo for his den.

Another Grey Heron seen from the back it's head hidden as it either preens it's breast or is bending towards the lake searching for food. If it's head was missing it would be"Falling out of it's Standing!"
Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp.

Another Grey Heron seen from the back it's head hidden as it either preens it's breast or is bending towards the lake searching for food. If it's head was missing it would be"Falling out of it's Standing!"

The Heron 's head is not as heavy as a human 's their bones are very light.

Wonder why they leave their head at home while hunting for mates. Come to think of it I used to do that in my heydays!:) The light, and the composition have worked well and you have caught the headless heron very well. Good effort.

I am not inderstanding why you did not wait a minute to capture this bird without it being "headless". the image itself has fine detail but the execution in composition is lacking patience.

This could have been an amazing image if you would have just waited a second so it wasn't "headless" just be patient.

This is also fantastic as he/she is sitting again on a special place looking down, so we can not see the face but he's the down section looks also like a face lol and your position is well-chosen again that this picture is special and again attractive for me as you did this picture at a special moment, so this entire content is fantastic again, and this entire color combination of the water is green again so all the content are super as even at these flowers at this end is creating a super content, well done again, dear friend, xoxo
