Your painting is impressive. I am impressed by your smooth brush strokes and your attention to realistic detail and color. The highlights amplify her skin and the folds of the skirt. Proportions and perspective are correct. The painting is well compost. The ballerina is expertly placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

I think there are several things in drawing/painting the human form that are very important.
1. The flow the bend of the body, in this painting that aspect is spot on for me.
2, the anatomy is correct for the most part; except in this one you missed the mark on the hand and fingers they are off.
3. Color, does it look natural and is it consistent, with the lighting and do the colors repeat, throughout in different tints and shades.
In this aspect I again think, you missed the mark as well, you need to bring the colors within the legs into her arms, back and face. As it is the legs look alive. The upper part of her body looks pasty,in comparison and lacks life.
Bringing the leg colors into the upper body would make the painting a cohesive composition.
I really like the pose, but the painting needs some work.

This is one of your best ballerinas.. I think the pose anatomy, quite difficult to do but you have it along with the angle of the legs and their shadow toning. There is a modern feel about this oil painting on wood. The colours too, as applied have a flowing aspect. A pleasure to review.

This is a oil painting of a beautiful ballerina in a black leotard and powder blue flared dress doing a back bend pose. The details of the legs and feet in ballet shoes is missing because of the lighting. Ray

Hi James, you must see a lot of ballet because your ballerinas always have the most exquisite poses. Love the toe point and the arch of the back. I also love the delicate facial features your ballerinas have. Though you can see little of the face in this image what you do show is lovely! Beautiful job My Friend! Wish I hada six for you! :o) Nancy

A good looking image posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that lovely ballerina arching her back and arms. Colours, textures and tones are good. Nicely painted!
