I thought this was a painting. But I then read your description that you used paintshop. The photo is different then what I would like. I would say you need more on the left. But, The kicker in this photo are the "waves" the little one made in back. That is what made this photo. But I will say I think I would like to see the original photo . Not ran through Paintshop.

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this juvenile Moorhen swimming along the river Dodder under the overhanging Willows. The only thing I did in Corel Paintshop Pro 2020 was to frame the picture & add the text. If you let me have your email address I will send you a copy of the unframed picture.

Susan, I've never seen a moorhen before!

You have captured it beautifully as it is surrounded by the dark and light shades of green

The ripples in the water along with the moorhen's wake gives the feeling of motion.

Very nice.

    Ruth Ann,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this juvenile Moorhen, the adult has black plumage, with white under the tail with a yellow tipped red beak long green legs & huge feet. It's nearest relative over in the USA would be the American Coot .

The green cast from the overhanging trees gives the scene a wonderful hue. The Moorhen cruising through the water creates a ripple trail through the scene. Nice scene.

What I like the best about this photo is the fine reflections you have captured in the emerald green water of the river Dodder. The Moorhen swimming along of course adds a lot to this lovely scene.

The photo is sharp with clear and well defined details, the green colors are crisp and clear, and the exposure is very good.

The format and frame is fine, and it is a fine balance in the composition. I also like the color of the frame you added. A truly lovely and well taken photo Susan.

A nice photo of a duck swimming through vegetation. The reflections in the water makes a good photo. Your focus makes the duck stand out. The green background adds to the photo. A nice photo.

    Matt,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Moorhen ( it's in the same bird family as the American Coot. A bird with a short pointed beak , with long legs & huge feet for the the size of the bird) it's not a duck.

Nice greenery in this photo. Love the reflection in the water.

I've never heard of this Moorhen but it is very lovely skittering into the darkness of the willows.

Nice exposure and framing.
