A very nice shot. I like the detail in the facial plumage and think the fanned out tail is superb. Nice colors and a good background. Best of luck in the contest.

What a beautiful hummer! Some people want to see the wings frozen in these type of photos but I think the way you have shown this beauty is perfect. She is so still but her wings are what helps her to be that way.
Your treatment of the background to show her off is perfect!

Your photo is very sharp. The hummer is pinkish. What kind of hummer is this, may I ask? Im thinking you must have blurred the wings a bit to soften them.

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments, I appreciated it very much! I believe that this is a female Orange Rufous hummingbird which are prevalent in the western part of the U.S. I didn?t blur the wings, this is the capture as it was at snap!

A great capture of this hummingbird!! Your focus is tack sharp!! A great feat for such a fast bird. Nicely placed with in the frame and the exposure is great. Beautiful colours. Thanks for sharing

What I like the best about this photo is the simplicity and the lovely gradient from blue to green in the background. The colors of the bird are so delicate, and the light is falling on it in such a lovely way.
The hummingbird is standing out from the background in an excellent way, the photo is sharp, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen. The exposure is perfect.
I also like the format you have cropped the photo into and the placement of the bird within the frame. This is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Absolutely beautiful! Love how you caught this hummer on the wing! Love the soft blur of the wing along with the focus and lighting on the rest of humming bird. The background colors are perfect to show off the hummer. Love the whole presentation. :o) Helvi
