You have done a wonderful job restoring this old photo and it makes a nice impact on first viewing! The ambiance is vintage and the mono tones give good accent against the light background. Well done, thanks for sharing!

You look so calm and collected unlike the usual pictures we see of grimacing people. May be it happens in Hollywood cowboy movies. Congrats for restoring and presenting a fine picture of yourself as a teenager.

A very kind review! I was certainly not the usual teenager! Since it is such an old and indistinct photo I'd like to find an artist who would like to replicate it in any form of media... Should this strike you as an interesting project be my guest! I am next going to post another photo from the same period but you can't see my face very well... Thanks for your review!

A really good job you did with this restoration Daphne. I can see touch of defiance and attitude in the face details ...so that says you were a able to manipulate this old take to show details clearly but without sharpness which is true of old photographs. Nice to see the young girl. Your narrative to Sean was well written and a natural flow.... a good read

Oh thank you indeed, and I am glad someone else got something out of my "article" to Sean, lol... I just happen to be trying to write about the miserable time I had with that airplane pilot, and some other similar types... Thanks again for the kind review!

A good looking image posted here of yourself! Initially thought that this was a shot of a young nurse!! Textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are OK. Nicely done!

Thank you very much for your review... yes the original was very dark and underexposed... I was amazed to get it looking as good as I did! I guess I just had to share my success... Thanks for your kind support!

Thank you, yes VERY old. I was actually nearly 40 in the one with the horses...

You restored it well. The background is so nicely done with the darker jacket and hair up against it. The face is not quite as sharp as the rest, but you did a fine job.

Your postproduction efforts are most effective. The regeneration of this old photo will be a family keepsake for your family's next generations. The light background helps pop the features and details of the image.

Oh funny you say that, as at the time despite having the father from hell a few "suitors" tried to get around him. But as I attempt to write in my memoir, because it was a macho culture perhaps, or who knows why, the guys in those days always tended to dare me, as though I threatened their macho, and I didn't end up liking them very much! After the government kicked him off the island (well I was the only one regularly on it, my father only came to my camp 3 times) my father moved his operation to an isolated delta that had an airstrip (dirt). Well a bratty military pilot he hired to fly him to and from the city of La Paz stole a raw gem I had found (a large, red, Mexican fire opal) right out of my hand and never gave it back because he said he only would if I would agree to go along with his asking my father if he could marry me . I never said "yes" and I never got my stone back. Then one day when a horse I was riding got upset by a landing plane, reared over on top of me, stood on my back when it got up and broke my collar bone in the process, my father ordered this idiot to fly me to a hospital in La Paz. Then my troubles really began! Despite my condition Manuel started doing areal acrobatics out over the sea to antagonize me, buzzing whales, stalling one of the plane's wings on purpose and it even felt like he flipped the plane upside down at one point. Well anyway he let the aircraft drop toward the sea, and dared me to take the yoke and fly the plane right.... a trip I will always remember, lol.... thanks for sentiments! Who I am now feels a bit sorry for who I was then sometimes -- such a different world. I did like the wild west part of my crazy life in many ways though, and recently wondered if I did not appear to ha bit of an attitude like Billy the Kid in this photo, kind of defiant and resigned at the same time lol... Do you read books... if so, maybe you'd like to be someone I forward my memoir to to see how it strikes you... a bit about Nazi occultism and a delusional Nazi sympathizer in there -- my father -- and of course my colorful mother, who although German, HATED Hitler and the Nazi's, and then never knew she married a would be Nazi... Its like in my parents the ghost of the Second World War threw up many years later... life IS sometimes stranger than fiction, and when it is nobody wants to believe it -- not real life.... enjoy my ramblings and have a nice day!
