This is a truly sweet bird, and especially the eye is well captured. I also like a lot the all black background, because it makes the bird stand out in such an excellent way.
The photo is sharp with clear and well defined details, and it is clear details to see in every part of the bird. The exposure is perfect.
The photo is nicely cropped, and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. It is a truly lovely and well taken photo Eileen.

I like the tilted head and his eye is tracking your efforts. The additional filter gives the surface almost a pebble glass finish. The lighting is good, and the black framing is well thought out. I have seen these little guys in the Sidney Zoo in 2000.
