Lovely blues which symbolize faith within itself. The way you have sketched this and composition adds to the contemporary work. This is fine work in this style. Like the people attending, showing their faith.

Brenda this is a wonderful presentation of a community church in the evening hours. I love your evolving style. Very shape orientated. Subdued and impressionistic. with the blue of the night as a major theme. Excellent presentation. Good luck in the contest. Ray

I really enjoy the simplicity of this little church and the feel the sketch gives in only a few lines (relatively)! The impression that it is night is well done. The lighting is a bit of a puzzler. I might like to see a hint of a moon, but this has always been a challenge for me just as it would be here, for if draw a visible moon its light shines at you, not away... And here we have light on the left and light on the right with shadow in the middle... and the light on the left looks like it is shining up rather than down from above from some artificial source of light light perhaps even temporary car headlights. And the yellow palm tree, that is too isolated to be the moon even peaking through clouds or mist I think.. but if it is lit from the left, and so would the people be illuminated, hmmm!

A great, interesting and challenging review, I so love this angle you proclaim and hint of unrealism haha!.. Well thats the beauty of free style art and the artist's perogative ..... It is a success to the artist if it leaves a viewer thinking and you certainly do here. Also I love to hear interpretations, these can make a story in their own right. My construction here was a winter dusk, the moon overhead but slightly left as moonbeams decend their illumination lands on people and corner of headstones, thus shadows of irregularity appear, yet add mood... whilst the hidden spotlights near the pathway cast a mysterious whiteness over the people.
There is no palm tree, just a trunk beside a bush and some bare branches that a distant street light hazely shines through in the cold night and bounces slightly off a tree at the opposite side of the churchyard. I have done this scene in daylight, no people but its not half as exciting as this lol... :)

It is always nice to see alternate approaches. The colour really speaks here. I also like the gentle merging of the people with the background giving the painting a mysterious look. Good luck!

I can immediately see that it's evening by the way you show the low light here, the church is beautiful and well placed within the scene , I like it's shape and structure and the warm color of its exterior. I like the way you show the people who are walking in for the evening service, ts a nice scene you have created here with the well placed trees and the path leading to the church.
