This is a very nice photograph of red dragonfly, lucky for you he settled long enough to get the shot. Good focus and details and set against the green background shows him off very well. Good luck in the contest.

A nice bug photo... I always think of dragonflies as looking like little helicopters although they don't actually have propellers, but the wings move so fast when they are hovering it is imagine them with little spinning propellers you can't see. This is a pretty fellow, with the red coloring. I am used to seeing green and blue. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting photo. Is the background an algae covered pond? The dragon fly is only 20% of the photo. I would like to see him larger. He is very interesting.

A reasonable look entry into the competition posted here! The flaw in it is the composition. I would crop the shot from the left of the twig to the RHS. Otherwise a good try.
