cool charcoal drawing. the body form of the spider is great. the leave forms is great. the depth is great. the details is great. the shading is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. creative approach and great job overall.

I like the depth in this picture and that the spider is the center of attention but not dead center in the middle of the paper. It's also a nice touch that the spiders highlights are brighter than the background highlights.

So Why the low rate when you are praising my work?You must be new here. We don?t give low ratings as they wipe out sixes that people get despite what the rules say. When you do give a low rate there must be a reason for it. So please explain for my understanding?

The off-center placement of the subject is well done. The spider is life-like and cute, as only jumping spiders are. When I was a kid, these were the only spiders I didn't kill when found in the house.

I love the spider and the setting you chose to put him in. Those curved leaves add a lot of interest to the image. You did a nice job of placing your spider in the image. The angular position of the spider gives us a head on and side approach look. He looks like he belongs where you placed him. Nice detail with your charcoal pencils too! Your drawing could make a nice book illustration which children and their families would enjoy. Your drawing is excellently rendered. I appreciate your attention to realistic detail and textures. Proportions and perspective are correct. The drawing is well composed. The Spider is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

I do like your spider and most of your drawing with the patterns and charcoal pencils is really nice. The spider does pop some against the lighter pencil work but that fine work may slightly overwhelm it. Best wishes in the contest.
