Nice neighborhood pet. Your postproduction cropping and reworking the background turns a neighborhood scene into a great wildlife shot. Great lighting, focus and color. The twinkle in his eye gives him a pleasing personality. He could use some dental work but other than that he looks like a great specimen of his species.

"Bull Moose" is an up-close photograph of an old and, in my opinion, weary-looking animal. The artist uses similar tones of colors in this artwork to both unify its overall theme and convey a certain emotion in it. Gray with sepia color palette blends in with the background of this photograph and creates a calm, unifying theme pleasant to look at. The focal object in the composition is placed well. It would be interesting to get a glimpse of the animal's natural surroundings to understand the context and its setting, all of which would give the viewer more information and understanding of its apparent weariness and indifference, and what message the artist tried to convey with it.

Thank you so much for your review, the moose is lying across the street in a neighbors yard, he just happens to be lying in front of their storage shed which is wood, here in Alaska , it is very common for the moose to wander neighborhoods , munching on trees and shrubs as well as lying down to rest.
This was captured from across the street .

This is such a good picture of the big bullmoose. this is an animal that I would like to try to paint. I am in physical therapy for my wrist and have not been able to paint for several months now. The face and antlers are beautiful.

This was such an "Alaskan" image to have a moose in a backyard. I love everything about this image. The limited color pallet emphasizes shapes, in particular his massive rack.
His pose is one of relaxation , just hanging out in the hood chewing his cud.

Do the neighborhood people keep their distance cause you never know, especially during rutting season?

Thanks for sharing, this one made my day!

Thank you so much Allan, I appreciate your wonderful review and I am honored by your six stars,
Yes indeed I keep my distance from the moose, the bulls are very dangerous during rutting season , the cows are very dangerous when they have their babies. Both bulls and cows are dangerous if agitated or stressed out at any time. These that wander through the neighborhood most likely were born very nearby and have wandered through as babies with their mom , they are pretty comfortable with people, dogs, cars etc , but we have to respect them and their personal space. I shot this from across the street, I used my Nikon P 900 , it has an incredible zoom ! 2000 MM ! I use it for distance shots and for macro, close captures as it will focus just inches from a subject .

Amazing that he is so relaxed hanging out in your neighbor's yard, so close to people. He looks very stately, and you have caught a somewhat sleepy looking eye. Focus and clarity are great showing the texture of his antlers and fur well.

Your picture has caught my attention and I find it worthy of a 6 stars rating. How lucky you people are there, in Alaska, to have these amazing creatures right there in your yards !! How exciting to see this! He is perfectly framed, the details you have captured are amazing, the velvet on the antlers... A fascinating wild life shot !

Skilled capture of this bull moose is outstanding. The pose is spectacular within itself by its expression, the mouth partially open, showing teeth, sharp eye, and blending with or compatibility of the moose and background is canny. Fine photography indeed.

A wonderful profile image of this Bull Moose. The details are so good of his face, eye and antlers. I would not like to come across such a large creature close to my home.
There is enough light to distinguish the Bull Moose from the dark background. Well done and thankyou for sharing Pat!

A good photo of a bull moose. The antlers are very sharp. The focus of the moose is very good. He stands out well against the background. I like the placement of his face is in photo. This is a good photo.

Stunning portrait image of the Bull Moose who stands out perfectly against the background. Your focus on the eye is sharp and the lighting on the Moose gives us a clear view of the antlers. Well done.
