I really like what you have done here Allan, and I especially like the fish in the background, the shadow from the big one at the bottom and that also a crayfish is added.

The water and the light patterns on the bottom are also really well done. The gradient turquoise colors adds so much depth. All the fish are of course also painted paying a very good attention to details.

The format and framing is perfect, and since you have placed so well all the fish within the frame, it is a very good balance in the composition.

I think this is a truly lovely and well done digital painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Yes! As an avid fisherwomen myself I really like this, Bass is the most wonderful fish to catch as it jumps out of the water and gives a good fight. I have never tried to paint underwater scenes though. I rather like the beauty on top of the water as I wait for those fish to bite, this is great though.

Thanks liseworks, I think it takes a fellow fisherperson to appreciate this piece. When every I catch a fish I just wonder at the beauty of that underwater species. More and more for me it is just catch and release, there beauty is enough to pursue them. I see on your personal picture you are holding what appears to be a walleye? Thanks so much for the support with a 6 rating, very much appreciated!!

lol, yes! I actually love to eat what I catch though as I love fresh water fish as food. I usually release the small ones or the really big ones as they can replenish the species.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that hungry fish and its prey. Colours, textures and tones are good. Nicely created!
