It was extremely cold that day, but the 'living museum' was amazing to visit - there will no doubt be other photos from that day uploaded at sometime soon.

Fine narrative, liked the true humor. The scene is lovely and everywhere I see the appearance of cold mixed with beauty. The sky is also nice as are the more distant foliage.

It is a stunning winter scene you have pictured here, and the HDR has indeed worked wonders. I see what you mean by marbled ice, and it is this doing this photo more than anything. The canal boats and the buildings are also standing out so well, and the color pallet is lovely.
The photo is sharp and it is truly clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the photo. The white balance and exposure is spot on.
The format and framing is perfect, and with all the fine leading lines it is a very good balance in the composition. This is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Awesome picture you have entered into the contest here!! It does look like war time almost. The grays and blues together, especially in the ice are stunning!! It is almost creepy with old smoke stacks. Very well done!! All the best you in the contest
