This is a fabulous winter scene! I can immediately see the time and thought you have applied here to create this entry for the contest, we see that it is cold, I Love the way you have arranged this one, with the road on right : that bridge leading to the left where the church is, I love the light posts, the stone work on the bridge, the shape and structure of the church, the way you have placed the trees , the frozen stream that leads the eye back , the sky with such realistic detail , nice clouds moving over the winter blue. This is just awesome there is so much detail, you have accomplished such nice depth . I love this and wish I had seen it sooner, it deserves the highest rating, I'm sorry I am out.
I also appreciate the beautiful poem that accompanies this beautiful piece.
I wish you the very best in this contest! This will be difficult to beat!

The way you personalized the poem, the beautiful prose in it, makes it indeed gorgeous. The painting in acrylic is lovely, especially the church, the clouds in their thickness, the snow and drifts, the lamp posts, and the greenery. Best wishes in the contest.

Not only do you have a lovely scenic image of snow but a lovely poem to go with it as well. If there were lights glowing in the church's window this would resemble a Thomas Kincaide image. Love the way you did the scene! Very Nicely done for the "Cold Art Contest" I enjoyed! :o) Helvi

Thank you. From a fine poet, yourself, this is a kind review. Snow isn't easily captured in paint, so I challenged myself a bit!

This is a truly lovely and idyllic landscape with all the snow, a church and the river with a bridge. I also like the lamp poles on each side of the bridge and the light coming through the windows of the church.

Perhaps this painting could have been darker since this is probably meant to be a night scene, but I like very much the fine shadows in the snow.

The format and framing is perfect, and with the fine leading lines created by the placement of the river, and the church placed off to the left, it is a very fine balance in the composition.

I think this is a lovely and well done painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This narrative is so beautifully written. The story told is one of hope and peace. The scene reminds me of a Currier and Ives painting. The blanket of frozen tears perfectly decorates the landscape. The construction of the layout says a New England village.
So lovely, Gary

This is a beautiful painting of an all-time favourite subject matter. The colours are awesome, and the fading light adds mystery. Finely composed and timed, this makes for interesting viewing! Good luck!
