This is absolutely gorgeous! I have always wanted to see an eagle in person, but this is so detailed and beautiful I feel like I am! The yellow lighting on her wings is so perfect and the whole bird is in great focus. Very nice!!

Such a stunning piece with a an incredibly beautiful subject. You've captured the motion of her wings so that's framed perfectly in the shot. And the background is well blurred out so as not to distract from this incredible bird. Beautiful!

Pat you know I love your photos but this is in my opinion one of your best! What a gorgeous captured image. Amazing detail. Perfectly framed with the beautiful eagles wings stretched against the muted sky. This allows the gorgeous feathers to show with great color and detail. Absolutely priceless!

Are you sure this is not a painting? :-) I cannot picture where you were standing to be at almost eye level with this magnificent eagle. The sinking sun lighting up parts of his feathers is so unusual. Five minutes later you might have missed this dramatic lighting. Your photo deserves the accolates already won!

Are you sure this is not a painting? :-) I cannot picture where you were standing to be at almost eye level with this magnificent eagle. The sinking sun lighting up parts of his feathers is so unusual. Five minutes later you might have missed this dramatic lighting. Your photo deserves the accolates already won!

Holy moly batman, what a wonderful simple but dramatic photo. The contrast, color and detail are very sharp, and I'm sure you were at the right place at the right time. One suggestion I'd make is please consider printing this on metal. I think the detail would really pop.
