I think this photo looks great in black and white, but I think it could need a bit more contrast to get a better distinction between light and dark. The bird is anyway posing for you in a lovely way, and it is standing out well from the background.

The photo is sharp showing clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is very good.

The photo is nicely cropped, and the bird is well placed a bit off to the right. All together a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

A very nicely taken photo! Black and white has added interest in this scene by creating beautiful textures and a surreal feel to the background. I like the depth and his angry look with open protesting beak. A great entry to the contest, best wishes!

I love the long scale contrast that black and white brings to a photo. Evocative, alluring, mysterious and many other words to numerous to mention that describe what any view sees when confronted with a B&W image.

Excellent timing in catching the mood and essence of this remarkable take.

Camera settings are perfect and focusing is clear and all edges are clean and sharp.

Nice entry fro the contest ... Bob

A beautiful picture of this Grey Heron...I think it does have a fish in it's beak...I can see the tongue the fish's head& the tail below. The breeze blowing up the loose feather. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

This is an excellent shot of a beloved subject. It's an original angle. The subdued b/w shades does it justice. I love the soft photo quality, yet perfectly sharp focus. It's all very artistic and pro.

This is a very nice scene and animation of the heron's anger in black and white, grays. Witty title, narrative. Best wishes. I like the way you treat the background which does not take from the gray heron.

This is a beautiful shot of an angry bird. He should start fishing again before others catch the remaining ones! You have timed it well. The light and shadows and composition have worked out well. Good luck!
