Your skilled photography of the lovely, realistic sea-lions, along with the running water and other pieces, including your conversions to black and white all contain fine workmanship and scene.

A beautiful & amusing black & white picture of the sunbathing Sea Lions in the Zoo in San Diego Zoo. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Good luck in the contest.

I love the long scale contrast achievable today. And this is a fine example of the art form.

B&W brings out the character of the subject. Sets the tone and gives the scene its texture.

I know how easy it is to convert full spectrum color to B&W, and admittedly the results are admirable. But try setting your camera to shoot in B&W mode. I tried it and I felt I could see a better scale of contrast from the lens. Oh yeah .. don't forget to switch back to color.

I like the shot, good work ... Bob

I love seals. The consgtruction of the scene is fine. The crop works as you have centered the two seals. Every once in a while, the conversion from color to B/W just is tough trick.
The central seal is just too black. Using a post-production brush, you could lighten him a bit and give it some dimension. Using the same post-production darkening brush, you could add some brush strokes on the rocks. I would enlarge the scene so when you use your brushes, you can control the area of shading. I hope the information is of some value. You can redo the post and re-post.
