A beautiful picture of the red Maple leaf on whate looks like a Butterbur leaf. Both standing out from their dark background.. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

If I'm right these leaves were used to wrap newly churned butter, before placing it in a cool place to harden before it was used.

It is kind of sweet with the small autumn colored leaf on top of the big green one, and a fine entry into this contest. The dark background is perfect for the green leaf to stand out in an excellent way.

I do however think that the photo could have been sharper, but it is still fine details to be seen. The colors look nice and natural, and the exposure is fine.

The format you have cropped the photo into works well, and the leaves are well placed within the frame. All together a lovely and well taken photo, but it needs to be sharpened. Still I wish you luck with the contest.

The maple leaf is so tiny in comparison to the large, round green leaf, it really stands out because it has already turned for fall.
I like the placement within the square frame. I like the way the light touches the maple leaf .
