When I saw this on my phone-screen I said "WOW! This should be the winner ! " Now, I see it large on my desktop and I realize that the legs are more in focus than his face. I don't know if his legs should be my point of interest. Don't get me wrong, I can clearly see the face, but being so busy right next to it , my eyes keep going in the center , at the legs, so they are a bit distracting . Even so , you did a very fine job.
P.S And you are holding it ??!! Really, I am scared by just looking at it .. Never mind is dead , is still scary !
Best of luck in the contest !

Yes I was holding this hornet. Scary even dead.
Thank you so much for your amazing review. I?ve taken more time to sharpen up the eyes. Could you kindly let me know if it?s better.

Now his head doesn't look out of focus anymore. Is as the same level of focus as the legs, so in my opinion is better .

A good looking image posted here into the competition together with interesting notes. Your fine, full and appropriate macro offers us an enjoyable view of that insect. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Fine mixed media. Very clearly seen hornet in its definite lovely colors. The largeness in places and compactness in other are both nice. The lovely greens in the background are very nice. Best wishes in the contest.
