Love that this little island with the castle looks like a perfect triangle. In my eyes this is definitely rare! Love the dramatic clouds surrounding the island. I imagine this would be very hard place to climb up too.
Awesome job of capturing this and knowing it was well worth the view! Lighting and focus show this off wonderfully! Great entry for the contest! :o) Helvi

Thank you so much for your lovely review, I really appreciate it.
Yes, getting to the top is exhausting, there are many tiny streets within the ?town? , but they?re almost vertical! Thankfully no cars are allowed inside!

A beautiful picture of the historic Mont St Michel, Brittany in the north west of France. The Cathedral surmounting the Island reached on foot by small many cornered streets. The Island itself surrounded by the water's of the English Channel. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

like many French people I visited the Mont Saint Michel, twice because the first time we had a rainy weather; the location is really unique as nicely presented in this pic;

Wow! What a great shot of this historical Abbey. The slight reflection of the landmass adds a real DOF to the scene. The wispy clouds and the blue sky frame the island beautifully. Wonderful idea to go see the backside of water.

    Thank you very much.
It was a wonderful idea to go see the back, the front and inside were just heaving with tourists, but at the back there was no one, I had it completely to myself!

Your camera angle adds so much the grandeur of this fairy tale place. The lighting is strength of this fine shot.

The overall exposure is even with no blown out areas. Detail is sharp through out. Contrast is sharp between the land mass and the sky. Brightness is consistent with the ambient light.

The piece is framed with the ROT in mind. The partial reflection at the base of the island is especially eye catching.

A fantasy island under wispy clouds and an azure sky ... Bob

    Thank you so much Bob.
This side certainly was a fantasy island - the other side was so crowded with tourists it was more like a nightmare! Lol

A very good image of a dramatic location we visited several times back in the 90's. Your fine and central composition offers us a great view of it. Well done!

This looks like quite a small island, but the castle on the top just looks great. I especially like the HDR touch you have given this photo, and also how well the island with the castle is standing out from the dramatic looking sky.

This is also a sharp photo and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the photo. The exposure is spot on.

The format and framing is very good, and I like the centered position of the island. This is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

The island is 247 acres (I just looked it up!), so pretty small as islands go.

Thank you so much for your review.

Beautiful photograph of this Mont St Michel Abbey with nice reflections on the water that is surrounding the island.
Great presentation with the blue water and sky framing the island so well.
Best of luck in the contest.
