The only shots i have of these type of dogs was in a local zoo[not the same as yours though] good example of wild creatures although you would not want to be close to them...Brian

Great looking shot!. Fine example of wild life photography. Your timing appears to be perfect and you have captured the attentive look on the African hunting dog's face very well. Good luck!

This is a very colorful African hunting dog. I saw a film of these dogs, not realizing there were such colorful dogs. The grasses appear wild and the beautiful dog as well. Rather outstanding capture of the animal and his action. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so much for your review.
Yes I promise both the dog and the grasses are wild, I took the photo on safari in the Masai Mara.

Welcome. I know they are. I learned from the film about these dogs and your work brought it home.

African hunting dogs, also called: cape wild dogs, bat-ear dogs, African painted dogs, or painted wolves. Most dangerous dog on the planet. Nice photo, but if a pack of these decides you are food... you better have a gun and a lot of ammo.

Cool! : D
It's great to see an 'out of the ordinary' choice of a subject for an 'Animal Pic'!
The picture looks terrific and I'm enjoying it very much,my friend!

Nice entry for the contest- good luck. Love how is multiple colors stand out against the green of the field. What was he stalking? Did he catch it? Good composition, framing, focus and dof. Thanks for sharing.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Like your fine and classical composition. Like it's careful approach for what it is stalking. Colours and and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!
