It's a hard task getting any critter to hold still long enough to get a clear shot of the eye. The way the dog frames the shot was beautifully orchestrated. Nice shot, good luck in the contest!

The portion of the beagle's head that you captured is very well done. The brightness of the eye is lovely and the hair is so detailed. I really like those golden colors as well as the brownish-red ones. The hound is indeed handsome.

I like how the photo is purposefully up close: it seems to capture the soul of the dog instead of it just being a portrait. There's something special about that eye of the beagle: it seems to speak volumes. The olive colors mixed with the brownish hues also seem to give it a timeless appeal to the photo, like something that has fond memories attached to it.

This is a great close up of your beagle. It seems to be completely in focus and the lighting is excellent. However, the resolution looks a bit low which means that you can see some of the pixels. Nevertheless I do like this close up

I am not sure how you managed to get this dog to keep still while you took this photo, mine would have her nose in my camera lens lol,, yes I have never seen this colour for dogs eyes either. It is very cool, I am sorry you lost this dog, And yes Beagles are stealers, my sister had one to ate a child's toy and she had to take him to the vet for a major surgery to get it out.
