A beautiful picture of your beloved Cooper who has the beautiful markings & colouring of a Bluetick Coonhound. The light sparkling in his eye that is fixed in the distance. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it's so heartbreaking to lose a pet, but when it's one of those one in a million ones it's so much worse, I've been there!
I didn't know about the green eyes being ultra-rare, thanks for educating me!
Lovely sharp image, good colours and great composition, I love the tight crop.
Happy new year.

Thanks Sean. I've had 2 beagles and they are such a special mischievous dog. I have some funny shots of both of them. I just got a Tshirt that shows a beagle and it says "what part of aroo do you not understand". If you get a chance, go to utube or just Google " video of beagle getting on kitchen counter". A great video of a beagle left alone and figures out a way to get to the food in a toaster oven. Nobody can say beagles aren't smart.

What a great closeup of your late dog Cooper. Sorry for your loss. The image is a wonderful memory.
Great sharp focus and the color is natural. The eye is remarkably clear and as you say an unusual color.

Thank you for your nice review. He had rare blue tickets markings as well. A wonderful dog. He left big paw prints on my heart.

Great shot of this beautiful dog! Great composition with his beautiful eye in the top third. The colour of his eye is really beautiful! The black patches section this image off nicely and create a nice contrast. Great shot thanks for sharing

Thanks. He and my black lab, Lucy were the best of friends. Later when I got another pup, hoping Lucy and I both would be helped thru our grief. But she just never attached to Poppy like she did Cooper. Poppy loves Lucy and cuddles up to her. She will put her arm around him as if to assure him that he is loved and this is his furever home. But I could see that something was forever lost. Lucy is going on 15 now and we've been thru a lot together. I lost my dad last year and my mom sunk into bad dementia. So, it's pretty much me, Lucy and Poppy now. And Lucy sleeps with one eye open, not letting me out of her sight.

yes that he is, I know hos you feel about him, I lost my Jack one year ago and I still get well emotional thinking about him, Jack was a lab, I like your photo

What color lab was Jack? I also have a black lab, Lucy. And she also lost some spark when we lost Cooper. When I got the call that my dad died last year, Lucy walked over and stood in front of me, rested her chin on my legs and just stared into my eyes. I told her "Grandpa's gone." I see human in her eyes. She just knows. So intuitive and smart smart smart. But my mom sunk into a bad place in her dementia when Dad died and I'm alone taking care of all her needs. And now Lucy is close to 15. I just don't want to think about losing her or my mom. But at least Lucy would be so comforting. Sometimes my mom is just "gone." What would we do without these 4-legged furry best friends?

Jack was golden colored with hazel eyes, your story is sad but true to life, dogs can be our major companion and I think they can read our emoitions.

They absolutely read our emotions. And I pay attention to their responses to their surroundings. I've noticed how my parent's pets have responded to the loss of my dad. Each little dog as well as the 2 cats have been affected. I can see it when I go check on Mom. It affected my dog. She loved her grandpa. And she saw how his loss affected me. Very perceptive furry family members.

Those of us who truly love their pet dog, cat or whatever, when they are gone we miss and grieve for them. Just as much as if it were a beloved human - only natural.

Your take of DB Cooper is a lasting tribute to this magnificent animal.

I see before me a fine rendition of this dogs character. I see before me a well crafted piece of photographic art.

The technical aspects of this shot are superior in every way.

The framing of this ultra close up has great initial impact.

If it weren't for the rare green eye a B&W would be jaw dropping.

Excellent work, and I am sorry for your loss ... Bob

Wow, thank you Bob. Yes, Cooper was a special little guy who my black lab, Lucy, bonded with as well. She lost some spark when we lost him. I lost my dad last year and Lucy walked over to me and rested her chin on my legs and just looked up into my eyes. I said "Grandpa's gone." She knew. She didn't wag her tail for days. Now I have to take care of all of my mom's day to day life as she slides further into the abyss of dementia. Lucy is going on 15, and needs a butt boost into the car as we go to Mom's. I hope Lucy can hang in there cuz I'm needing her more and more. Life isn't supposed to go this way. Just have to love them, I even tell my dog I love her. She understands it in Swedish too. They were the last words my dad and I said to each other, not knowing what was to come. I'm sure thankful it was what we last said.

This works on a few levels first an interesting reminder of your dog but think showing the eye close up makes for a different approach to a pet photo, okay maybe a tad sharper would be better but somehow the softish look in this seems better somehow, certainly a good reminder of times you had...Brian

I love dogs! I own three an have done obedience work on all breeds.
Cooper is a perfect name for a beagle! Your close up allows a good look at his green eye!
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented!
I am sincerely sorry for the loss of Cooper, they go to sleep in our hearts forever. They are family .

Thanks, yes every dog I've had has replaced a piece of my heart with theirs. I suppose when it's my time, my heart will be dog. I still have my black lab who is the smartest, most intuitive dog I've ever owned. She's over 14 now. And I adopted a homeless pup that was in Tijuana. I think he might be a Dutch Smashmouth (ratter). I sent away for a DNA kit. I'm sure it will come back saying " Hippy". Lol
