This is outstanding! It is the best cardinal image I have seen on here, it's perfect, it's a fantastic pose that allows such a great view of this gorgeous bird from beak to the tip of the tail feathers .
Excellent detail in feathers, face and beak, beautiful, clear eye, perfect exposure producing the natural colors and tones of this bird. I even love the metal object and the way it curves from left to right.
Your grandson is fortunate indeed to have received this book from you and I'm certain that he will treasure it forever!
The background is perfect , nice depth and it really emphasizes the northern cardinal !

Thank you so much Pat. Cardinals are Lars favorite birds, so I took many shots before I got this one. I also got a shot of this guy and his mate together on the feeder bar. It is as fine as this post except both had their combs retracted. Maybe I'll post it but not yet.

This is a beautifully constructed photo BobI like how you added the border and the text underneath that tells us about the bird. I also like the space that you've given this bird in the picture, the dark background brings great highlights to the birds chest and face and the arched fence that he's standing on gives us a good balance. The colors are bright and the lighting is superb. What a great gift for your grandson, thanks for sharing!

I do love your Cardinal birds they are such a vivid red color and you have shown it to perfection against the dark background. Focus is sharp on the eye of bird. Overall composition is good.
