Waterfall like a Racehorse

My dog fountain starting the waterfall down rocks

While this is a very humorous image I find it lacking in composition. There are far too many distractions within the frame to give a distinct waterfall effect. Otherwise the color and lighting appear clear and natural.

Sorry this just doesn't work for me, the angle of the shot you have chopped off the tail of dog, can hardly see the water flowing at all and the clutter in background is distracting. Hate to be harsh but am trying to be honest.

Well, you accomplished quite a bit with your procedure. The waterfall, or more like a fountain of sorts, has a little water. But the fern and rocks look wet so I imagine it can apply. It might have even more focus on the wet parts of the rocks, and other, if the front portion were dubbed out.

This one made me laugh ! I have three boy dogs K this would certainly work well in my garden! Good for you in adding a waterfall to this great water feature for your yard!
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is good, colors and tones appear true and natural,
Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest! I think I'm going to look for this dog water feature!

This is a very quirky take on the waterfall contest - well done. It appears to be in focus but I think that I would have moved around a bit to the left so as to get rid of those pots in the background as the fern would have made a better backdrop.
Good luck with it

Well it qualifies as such and quite funny as well but i do feel there was a better angle to get the best out of this one, plus there are several other things in the background which did not need to be in it,but worth putting in...Brian

Thanks Brian. I did take this from just about every angle. I wanted to capture his stream as well as the waterfall. I wish I had backed off of the focus a bit and shopped other stuff out. Thanks

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Both your composition and notes are amusing. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine! Well done and good luck!

Well I guess this take meets the minimum requirements for this contest - good luck.

An interesting subject that is well captured with good placement of subject in frame, well focused, the image is clear, well exposed with vivid colors.

Judging by the visible volume of his stream I would wager he needs the services of a competent Urologist - soon ... Bob

Thanks Bob. Yes, this poor dog starts out peeing like a racehorse, then begins to dribble. I've had him for several years and relocate where he's going to pee. I replaced the pump this past summer, but same issue. I think the internal line that is not accessible will need a "stent" or something that will feed through the existing one. He definitely gets a lot of comments and brings a lot of chuckles. That's a good thing.

Thanks MK. I've had this fountain for several years. I painted him black and every spring while cleaning up the yard, I usually come up with a new place for him to pee. With this pic, I dug a hole big enough to place a Rubbermaid storage box. I have tons of beautiful rock of all sizes so I started carefully placing the rocks to form a stair step type waterfall. I had a pump at the bottom and a steel grate across at midway down, covered with rocks across the grate. Didn't use any cement. I had the dog peeing and admiring my handywork, then my real dogs ran thru and knocked the rocks, which all went tumbling down. Oh well.
