Remnants of the Cold War and the power some have over people. This wall is a segment of world history. This represents a time of many tears and pain. Thank you for sharing this and good luck in the contest. Ray

Your alliteration makes this appropriate for the "O" contest. I really liked the historical narrative. The wall with boards is well captured as well as the rubbish, twigs, and brush which kind of take away. The sky is beautiful.

Thank you Glena, I have since cropped some out left side so focus is more on the wall. I took this through a close mesh fence and wanted to capture the essence of from mighty to nothing but rubbish.

A good striking image posted here into the competition together with interesting notes! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us a good view of those horrible walls. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

Interesting capture . The clarity is good. The angle of the shot of this old wall is good. The capture of the light is good. The presentation is balance and eye interesting to the viewer. Good eye and good job overall.

Wow! I have seen bits of the Berlin Wall in traveling exhibitions. This documentation is terrific. The Wall may not be a current topic of conversation, but it is part of the fabric of Germany and should never be forgotten. Thank you for documenting this scene for history.

I suppose you could say that this old wall is sitting exactly where it belongs. In a rubbish dump. I like the perspective you have used because it creates fine leading lines, but I think you could have gone in even closer. Still it is fine textures brought out in the wall.

I can see by your notes that the photo was taken with a smart phone, and this is probably the reason why the photo is a bit blurred. The colors and exposure is fine.

When it comes to the composition the tall format works well, but I think you have included too much of the foreground. Instead of making the wall the real center of interest, too much of the rubbish area is showing. Still I think this is an interesting and all together well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you Anne for a clear and instructive review. Perhaps I should have mentioned there was a wired checked fence and I had to poke my phone lense through one of the small square gaps. I couldn't get closer but I could have put the zoom lense on hmm didnt think of that... .
