Historic structures in Europe usually have either political or religious beginnings. In the early days of medieval times the church and politics where one in the same. The scene creates a skyline of the blending of the two side of the coin coexisting in peace.

Nice capture. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of the steeple and flag against sky view is great. The capture of the light is great. The presentation is balance and eye interesting to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

an interesting capture but I wonder why you cut the bottom; I would rather cut the left street light and the "port" sign.......................

Very many thanks. The bottom was just a boring street scene.

Thanks for the info and the contrast. It does seem to be exactly as you state, with the right symbolizing religion; the left symbolizing loyalty with the flag standing tall.

I like your TITLE so appropriate. I like the flags in the wind by the church along with the British flag, must be a bazaar in the church parking lot. Very fine picture. Ray

Two strong entities. Powerful image. Loyalty and religion head to head. Good use of lighting. Good focus. Good perspective. Depth and interest in check. Thank you for sharing.

This is an interesting picture showing two aspects of life in Northern Ireland. It is well lit and in focus but why did you cut off the bottom. I think that if there was something 'ugly' in the way I would have moved to take the picture from another angle rather than cutting it off like this.
