Interesting presentation recalling the good old days! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and composition have worked out well. Good luck!

It's a very neat part of history, indeed. I hope it never gets torn down. Great contrast, color, detail and angle. i bet your state has other hidden gems.

Interesting history, my husband loves going around the old gold mines here in Australia.. The exposure on the front section of the sluice water is blown out otherwise a 5 would be given. The surrounding vegetation is very natural in color and the focus is okay.

This is a nice photo of the sluice boxes, it's well focused and you can see where the water starts in the boxes to the end and the green around it gives it a nice background, well done.

This photograph fits the contest so well. The collection of small waterfalls, where kids get some cool rocks after dredging effort.
Good details, colors, especially on the foliage framing the box.
Nice setting and composition.

I'll take your word for that,my friend! : D
That's a pleasantly 'Out of the Ordinary' presentation though!
I'm enjoying everything ( except that distracting FAR watermark on the uploaded image! ) about it!

Thanks for the review. I never used to put the watermarks on there but I've had a few of my images stolen recently and used without permission. Not on here but a different site.

I've never heard of an uploaded image being stolen from FanArtReview.

Wasn't fan art review, another art site. It's very disheartening with all the work artists do to have their work stolen. Guess I get a little protective after that happened. I wish they had a smaller logo so it doesn't take up the whole scene.

I just don't worry about it!

Love the way these sluice boxes are lined up to create a mini waterfall. You definitely chose an out of the box way to show a waterfall. This is something you wouldn't expect to see. I like the way your mind thinks. Lighting is good. POV could be alittle better if you shot at an angle, but I don't know I'd that was possible. Overall nice job! Good Luck in the contest! :o) Helvi

This such a fine piece of history that the kids must love and feel what it is like to imagine striking it rich. I've scene the sluice box users on Lake Superior, an amazing story. The best of luck in the waterfall competition. Ray

Thanks for the review and yes, the kids loved it here!

This is a fun image with good history. I wish the kids today were into such creative ideas and ways. It would make such a possible future engineer architect etc. The skies the limit when faced with different situations.
Your image is focused well. Presented perfectly. Well balanced with nature and man made elements. Best of luck in the waterfall contest. This is a unique take.

This is a very interesting and creative waterfall with boards and pieces of wood, original I believe you indicate. The greens all around are nice and, of course, the waterfall.
