Either you have a very steady hand, or you may have used a tripod. The focus and sharp edges are outstanding. The limited light source spotlights the petals perfectly. The hints of the leaves fill in the darkness. The balance of the background help show off the flower.

Thanks so much Gary, yes this is hand held with my Nikon fixed lens , it is my favorite camera for close captures it will get within inches of the subject.

Pat this is so pretty. I feel a delicate little girl flower. So soft fragile and innocent. A great image with texture and colors. I like the dark background which I believe adds some magical feel. Very well presented.

We finally have daffodils though!
The only thing I would recommend changing, is the background or the purple petals a bit lighter. It's hard to see it.

Pat one of the features I always look for in florals is the crenulations of the petals. If I can't see them I know the focusing is a little soft. In this case the petal details are sharp as they can possibly be - Kudos

Nothing seen in this beautiful floral clashes - High color harmony.
