This is a beautiful scene with the snow adorning the ground and roofs, the fence and posts, scant trees, and especially the old house which holds many precious memories. Best wishes in the contest.

Hi Lise!
That's an interesting and enjoyable picture,my friend!
The old house has a cool 'haunted' look o it that I'm enjoying very much!

This is a great entry for the something old photo contest. Although you say the inhabitants always give a wave this house looks cold and dark. Maybe no one was home. Maybe the cold snow gives it a cold feel. All in all it is well balanced and presented. There is good perspective and interesting. I give you a lot of credit for being out in the cold taking photos. Your efforts are not unnoticed, It is a great image. Best of luck in the contest.

something im soooooooooooo glad to never see again..SNOW! never liked it when i worked out in it. wink.. still it is a nice capture. the clarity is good. the angle of the shot of this building with snow terrain is good. the capture of the light is good. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and good job overall.

Wonderful work! Snow scenes are always a struggle for me to get just right. Love the tone of this, you can literally feel the cold from it LOL. You can also see the detail in the roof caving in. Nice work!

Feels like Michigan lately. The ghostly feel of this shot goes with the theme of this aging home. The dark foreboding home loaming out of the falling snow has real ghost story potential. The straggly trees add a haunted house feeling. The soft focus due to the snow is the perfect setting for this post.

Lise, this is one fine capture of this old stone house on a gray day. The bare trees, the snow and the split rail fence all come together with the gray sky. Well presented. The best of luck in the contest. Ray

It warms my heart to know that there is someone besides myself who appreciate these old structures.

I see a building in the last chapter of its existence. Still standing on its own, proud, resolute and timeless.

Your creative central positioning offers the viewer a detailed look at this regal old building - Expressive center of interest.

Your camera settings are well established and have produced a high resolution image of good contrast, color and tonal range.

The color palette is near monochrome and that makes for a very dramatic presentation.

There is much more to be photographed regarding this house. If you can get permission from the owners to explore in and around the building. This structure has so much character it would make a fine B&W essay.

I have had the pleasure of viewing a fine piece of photographic history, thank you ... Bob

I should admit that you have captured the atmospherics of the place very well. This looks like something out of a horror flick from Hollywood. The light, and the composition have worked well. Good luck!
