This is so rich. So nicely done and a very nice tribute to those lost and injured in Turkey and Syria. Having been born and raised in California then I know what earthquakes of that magnitude can do. Although due to devastating quakes many years ago, those cities were rebuilt and new structures are built to withstand that size earthquake fairly well. But different land mass and cores have different types of earthquakes. All we can do at this point is support and help these areas and the ones who survived. Your painting surely depicts terror and fear.

Large earthquakes are always a surprise ? and always inevitable. Monday?s deadly events in Turkey and Syria are no different.Yet no seismologist could have predicted the exact location, time and magnitude of this week?s quakes. That said, the past is a good guide to what to do now. Lessons learned from previous earthquakes can now be applied in the region. Let's wish them all the best in rebuilding a new country.
Yet no seismologist could have predicted the exact location, time and magnitude of this week?s quakes.Thank you so much for the positive review and support. I really appreciate it. Your high rating is humbling!

What a great tribute to those who lost so much. The red helps to illustrate the tragedy of lives lost. I think blending the red around the person's head more into the background might help with a smoother transition into the scene but it's still a wonderful image. Thanks for sharing it!

HI Sesha, The red here definitely gives off the feeling of intensity these people must have gone thru. I can't even imagine going thru something like this! You survivor look like she is lost! You did a super job of displaying the pain we all feel. MY prayers are with the people of Turkey and Syria too. I know this couldn't have been easy for you to do. Thank you for sharing and reminding us not to forget this tragic event! Wish I had a six for you! :o) Nancy

I like this expressive mixed media piece. red is the color of passion and suits this instant memorial to those who have and will die from this devastating incident. Our thoughts go out to the people of these countries. Very nicely presented Sesha. Ray

A good looking image of that recent disaster posted here! Your fine and full composition presents us with two different aspects of that tragic event. Colours, textures and tones are good. Nicely painted!

You really did a great job of expressing yourself with this painting. The look on the girls face really tells the storey. I get the impression from the painting in red it kind of gives it a sign of anguish, very well done.

Sesha, you've done it again! This painting is so moving, so heartfelt and absolutely heartbreaking! You have such a great talent, but particularly I feel when it comes to this style of hard hitting, journalistic artwork. Thank you for reminding us of all the horrors that are happening in the world around us, it puts our own lives into perspective.

Indeed it is a worrying experience to view the devastation on news channels. I have stopped watching it and read only the news items. Disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, transportation accidents, or wildfires are typically unexpected, sudden, and overwhelming. For many people, there are no outwardly visible signs of physical injury, but there can be nonetheless an emotional toll. Thank you for taking the time to view and comment on my artwork with high rating. I do appreciate it.
