I don't know which I like more here, the butterfly or the flower! I think the combination of the two make this a winning combination. Love the shapes of the flowers and the spread wings of the butterfly. Love your POV too! Good lighting and focus make both stand out for the viewer to enjoy! :o) Helvi

Amiee,
A beautiful shot of the male Ruddy Daggerwing wth damage to his lower right wing, perched on your orange Canna Lilies no doubt to suck nectar. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus,
Susan

    Thank you so much for the detailed, positive review and the 6*. I really appreciate it.

I wonder how you managed to get this shot. I imagine you sitting in a patch of Canna Lillies all afternoon, swathed in sunscreen. It is so well-focused on the flower and butterfly and less on the greenery. It is simply outstanding and worth one of my six stars.

This is a very fine capture of Ruddy enjoying the Canna Lily in your backyard. I live the colors. Perfect focus and Bokeh. You have done a wonderful job putting this together, so nice to enjoy. Ray

a cyber six Aimée for this excellent entry into the "Nature Photo Contest"; this butterfly is really a beauty, a pity that some wing borders have been attacked by other insects I guess;

This is a lovely entry for this contest! I like the orange flowers the butterfly chose to land on.
The butterfly is beautiful and well placed at angle angle here.
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, the colors and tones appear natural.
The flowers and butterfly step forward from the soft green toned background.
Well composed and presented!

Beautiful nature photography and great entry into the contest. Gorgeous bright colours as the butterfly blends in with the orange lilies, but at the same time is quite noticeable. The blurry green background is very complimentary. Your image is clear and focussed with lovely lighting. All the best in the contest!

Well nice butterfly shot this and the dof is spot on in this,of course the butterfly being a slightly similiar color makes it blend in more but its still a good one,they are not an easy subject to get so well done...Brian
