I love the simplicity of this floral shot! The striking Pink bud against the stark yet softly blurred grey backdrop is perfect in my opinion! Great detai and clarity as well. Nicely done!

When this blooms, it will be a stunning flower. The interesting color combination of the blossom has me curious on the final product. The diagonal bend of the stem helps fill in some of the blank space but I may have cropped it a bit tighter for a stronger effect for the viewer. Good luck in the contest.

To my eyes this piece is all about fine floral detail and this piece has it in spades.
Brilliant use of a neutral background makes this bud 'POP'.
This is a beautiful composition that is well framed and makes use of excellent lighting and is captured with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Well its still thats for sure,flowers are not the first thing that springs to mind in still life,but guess it counts in this contest,personally i prefer flowers just to be in flower contests [but that might just be me]good clarity in this and dof...Brian

A lovely photo of a budding poppy, but I'm not sure it would be regarded as Still Life, which is more about arranging different objects together, like pottery, glassware, a bowl of fruit, a vase of flowers etc. This photo might be better in a flower contest - and there are plenty of those! You may still be able to change it?
