By the look of it this reminds me of a pike. I agree it is not the prettiest, but at least this one looks like it is smiling. I especially like the simplicity emphasized by the limited color pallet, and of course also the play of light in the background water. I also like a lot the way you have made the fish shine. It is also standing out from the background so well.

This is indeed done paying a very good attention to details, and the pattern of the skin is well done.

The format and framing is perfect, and the gar is well placed within the frame. I also like the frame you have added picking up the colors of the fish. A lovely and well done digital painting Allan.

Hi Annie, glad you had a break from FAR for a while. We all need occasional breaks. I had a brief break also, having a bad cold! Ugg.

I very much enjoyed your review. You often see things I don't. So thanks. And 6 stars for my art work-awesome.

Yes, I do need a break from time to time. We are doing a total renovation of the bath room, and I get so tired with workers around the whole day, and getting up very early every morning. It has taken 4 weeks, but tomorrow it is finished. Can't wait to have a proper shower again. LOL And ...you are of course more than welcome for the review.

I am familiar with this species and you have created a fine and accurate image of this freshwater apex predator.

Not only are the details of the fish so accurate but the portrayal of its environment is also well presented - well done.

The positioning of the fish within the frame adds to and reinforces the impression of deep water below.

This is an exceptionally well done piece of original art - Kudos... Bob

Thanks Bob, you nailed it, Apex predator. I am working on a long nose gar now, even a more dangerous Apex predator, if you are another fish that is.

Thanks Brian, glad you stopped by. I think the frame does look like it is in a tank.
