beautiful fuchsia flowers Glena; unfortunately I don't remember their name;
I don't understand why you cropped so tight, cutting the tip of two out of the three bouquets;

    Thank you for reviewing, artist friend, and for your valued input. I cropped them because it didn't look right to try to photograph more, and the tops of the two flowers, I failed, somehow, to capture.

Your flowers are striking against the dark background. Unfortunately I don't know what they are but their bright fuchsia color must surely make your neighborhood bright! A wonderful entry to the contest, best wishes my artistic friend!

    Thank you, artist friend Jodi, for reviewing and for your fine words. I failed to capture the tops of two of them I think, but you were so encouraging (as usual) anyway. Your kindness is a great blessing.

Hi Glena, You do such a good job that I'm surprised you cut of the top of the flowers. I don't know what they are but they truly are gorgeous! I can see a faint pink of flowers in the background and also some out of focus leaves around the edge of the plant. If you clone or paint those spots out it would help the image. I hate marking you down but this needs a little work. I like what you do to much not to be of help if I can. :o) Nancy

    Thanks for reviewing, Nancy, and your valuable input. I had taken this picture and somehow didn't capture the tops. Sorry. I just needed a photograph to enter and edited some.

These flowers are beautiful. I believe they may be from a crepe myrtle. Maybe a dwarf bush? Hard to tell up close, but up close certainly made this shot. The way you have cropped the picture and darkened the background really make these beauties pop. Great job. Good luck.

This trio of flowers is slightly puzzling me in as much as i can see a slight reflection behind them and my other thought is its a pity the tops of these are cropped of....Brian

    Thanks for reviewing and your support, artist. I failed to photograph the top I believe. I did edit around by placing dark background, slight reflection to cause them to pop. I don't know as much about photography to do too much editing, although I've snapped hundreds of pictures. Hope to learn more when I get my camera out of the shop soon.

    Thank you, kind friend Daphne. How is your book coming along? I still plan to read the script you sent to me, as soon as possible. Oh that is a lovely post of the flowers, Glena! I just knew it had to be worthy a of a six, whatever it was! I am sorry that I have really not been visiting this site much for over a year now. I don't recall which work I gave you to read, but if it is my Guatemala memoir it is quite dark and perplexing, and if you suffer from health problems, it might not be an ideal world to visit. Yet you mention it is a script, so not sure which it is. I have been working in a potential film series and separately a book about the same time period that takes place in Mexico (nonfiction.) I am burned out as a writer, but plugging along just the same, lol... If I sent you something to read I must have your email, but don't recall it. Mine is daphneoberon@gmail.com... oh I found your email... I
    'll see about finding something more uplifting to sens you than I probably sent you before, lol... let me see what I think of.... Love, Daphne

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of those lovely blooms. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

A well-composed photo of Fuchsia has a clear focal point, with the three flowers arranged in an aesthetically pleasing way. The photo also has a good balance of negative space and foreground/background interest. Well done!

Hi Glena, sorry about the minus one star, but (in my humble opinion) I feel you should have either left the original background, or been totally scrupulous while adding the dark background - there are so many grey/white patches in between the leaves and petals that really detract from the photo.
Otherwise I like the composition, with them coming from one corner and filling the image, your focus is good and the colours are lovely. Good luck in the contest.

    Thank you so much, artist Charlotte, for your review and constructive criticism. I should have removed those grays and whites that were there. The leaves were white and gray in places. Perhaps I may have time to do that before the contest. Thanks for your best wishes.
