Great capture. Mean little birds these guys are. The way you capture him mid son, just before he turns and plucks your eyes out is great! LOL just kidding but these birds are very territorial and I've had many of run in with them protecting their area. Focused and well presented.

many thanks! I haven?t had any issues with them , other than having them fly around squawking their annoyance at me for trespassing-lol!

Wow this is a spectacular image of the Redwing. Excellent details. He /she appears like I can reach out and touch his soft beautiful feathers. Great colors. Excellent focus. I am ready for spring as well. He appears to be telling us spring has sprung! Best of luck in the contest!

The use of focus and depth of field is excellent, allowing the bird to be the clear focal point of the image while still providing a sense of its environment.Good luck in the contest!

I have to give you a great rating for this one, as I find every time I try to take a photo of these guys its blurry, they are constantly on the move. Love the way this one is singing to bring on the spring. Great photo

Many thanks for the review and extra star! I?ve been pretty lucky with the ones at the refuge staying put, probably due to the number of vehicles that pass them on the wildlife drive every day, not so much with the local ones that visit my feeder!

Looks orange to me in this beautiful nature image! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that beautiful bird and its location. Textures, colours and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are spot on! Well done and good luck!

Thanks so much for the great review, well wishes, and grand rating; Some appear to be redder than others, which might be due to lighting.

What a great entry for this contest! We don't get these birds in the UK, so I'm not familiar with them - but I can see how they got their name!
Your photo is beautifully sharp with great detail in the feathers - and you've managed to capture him in full song!
Exposure and colours are spot on and your composition is lovely. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks so very much, I will have to post another photo, they often hold their wings away from their bodies and have them spread put a bit when they call.

Thanks very much, Sean; I do enjoy hearing the first one in the Spring, even if it does snow after they return!

Gorgeous capture of the Redwing bird as it sings out. The white balance and exposure are perfectly handled and clarity of the plumage is good. Focus on the eye is sharp. Nice entry to the contest.
